2025 Feb – Skipton

Another great turnout for this fine and sunny weekend at Skipton. 34 vans altogether (with a bit of an influx from ‘over the Pennines’) 15 Yorkshire, 15 Lancashire, 1 N.Counties, 1 N.W.Mids & N.Wales, 2 E.Mids. Friday night saw a great gathering in the Auction Ring with the theme for the weekend being yellow. This saw most of the tables decorated by the ralliers with the yellow theme, so lots of spring flowers about. Many were dressed in yellow but we didn’t see many people drinking yellow drinks! There was an issue with the heating, but being from up north we all just put on another layer. The ralliers were entertained all evening by Hosts Carol & Malcolm:- Rebus Picture puzzles, Yellow/gold Flower anagrams, Yellow/gold item quiz, Bingo and Bonus Ball. As Friday night was a clear sky quite a few went star gazing for the ‘Planetary Parade’. Saturday day time – the weather was fantastic for the time of year. Most people walked down the canal bank or through the park into Skipton, where the town centre was buzzing, and the normal Saturday market up the High Street. Thankfully the engineer had been out so we had some heating for Saturday night where the yellow theme continued:- Yellow/gold Music quiz, Skipton Pub Name anagrams, conclusion of the Bonus ball and a few games of Card Bingo. Sad to say that the best dressed table prize went to …. Lancashire. Great fun and laughter was had by all. Unfortunately there were no facilities for a coffee morning on Sunday, but the weather was pleasant enough for us all to say au revoir. Great feedback and many thanks for the efforts of Carol & Malcolm.
